About Dale

DVSA-approved driving instructor · Calm, friendly, personal tuition.

Before becoming a driving instructor, I coached sales teams for well-known brands, helping people develop their skills and confidence. Today, that coaching experience shapes every driving lesson.

My approach is friendly, calm and tailored to you. Everyone learns differently, so we’ll work at your pace, building confidence and skills step by step. I primarily prepare learners for tests at Musselburgh test centre, and also cover Currie.

The best part of my job is seeing someone realise what they’re capable of—and celebrating together when they pass. I’m always learning too, continually developing my own skills to give my learners the best support I can.

Ciarán · October 2026

This one is extra special. A few years ago, before becoming a driving instructor was even on my radar, Ciarán was the very first person I ever taught to drive, starting out in the IKEA car park. He loved learning, I loved teaching him, and somewhere along the way a little spark was lit that eventually became Dale Driver Training. After time away travelling in South America, Ciarán came back, picked up where he left off and, with lots of hard work, passed first time at Musselburgh. Now I’m fully qualified and the person who started this whole journey with me has his licence too. A very special full-circle moment.

Libby · September 2026

A fantastic first-time pass for Libby! Libby combined her weekly lessons with lots of private practice with her dad, taking the feedback from each lesson and putting it straight into practice before coming back the following week noticeably stronger. That dedication meant we were able to progress quickly through the syllabus and build her confidence and independence on the road. A brilliant example of getting out exactly what you put in — and a very well-deserved result!

03

Nathaniel · August 2026

A fantastic first-time pass at Musselburgh! Nathaniel put an incredible amount of effort into learning, combining his lessons with regular practice in his own car with his mum and dad. He was constantly asking questions between lessons about different junctions and situations, determined to understand not just how to pass his test, but how to become a confident, knowledgeable driver. His dedication really paid off, progressing quickly and achieving a brilliant first-time pass. A thoroughly deserved result!

What my learners say

GOOGLE REVIEWS

Kind words from learners I’ve helped along the way.

“He was incredibly helpful, reliable and patient, always calm and collected, which made learning to drive a much less stressful experience.”

“She felt comfortable with him from day 1 & always enjoyed her lessons. He provided good feedback to us as parents as to what her practice should focus on between lessons. … He uses the Total Drive app too which provides feedback for lessons / a calendar for future bookings making this easy.”

Adam H

Parent · Google review excerpt

“I felt confident straight away at the wheel and he made sure there were no nerves going into my test!”
